Bilston Town Football Club:

  • CLIENT: Fortmere Properties
  • PROJECT VALUE: £12 million

Bilston F.C was founded in 1894. In 1954 the team joined the Birmingham & District League and won the championship in 1960-61 and again in 1972-73. In 1983 the club's name changed to Bilston Town F.C.

In April 2006 the BBC reported that the club's Queen Street ground had been vandalised over 120 times in six years. In 2007 council officials ruled that the ground was unsafe forcing the club to move out and play their matches in Bantock Park

In line with general redevelopment currently taking place within the town Bilston Town F.C has set out standards higher than its current league status with a view to creating a new stadium wing and hotel development. The football facilities will encourage the development of a modern approach to the game inspiring footballers of the future.

The existing stand will be reclad and extended and new changing facilities will be incorporated to league standards allowing for potential promotion. The existing social club will be extended with an additional floor to accommodate a viewing balcony and groundsman living accommodation will be provided to create increased on site security.

The curved feature corner will house a restaurant, small gymnasium and act as the lobby to the new 60 bed hotel facility.
