PART I

Tweedale Limited has a positive and equal opportunities policy both as an employer and in its provision of services. The aim of the policy is to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on grounds of sex, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, age, political activities, religious beliefs, spent offences or is disadvantaged by any conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justified. The above will apply to selection, training, promotion, pay, procedures and all terms of conditions of employment. Tweedale Limited will make use of the provisions of all relevant acts which allow for initiatives to encourage under-represented groups to apply for posts and for specific training where appropriate. Policies and procedures will be designed so as not to discriminate intentionally or unintentionally against any group or individual on any unjustifiable grounds. The Board of Directors of Tweedale Limited will ensure implementation of this policy by regularly reviewing its effectiveness.

The Board of Directors recognise that fair and effective employment policies are essential to the achievement of the company’s success. The Company also recognises that the success of these policies requires that there should be an awareness and acceptance of them at every level of the organisation. The successful development, implementation and operation of employment policies requires the involvement of all employees. The Board of Directors has identified the following policy areas based on the foregoing principles, which it considers are essential to the future of the company. Those responsible for engaging staff will be made aware of policy in all employment matters as follows:-

1.0. Recruitment and selection.

To ensure an adequate supply of suitable labour to meet the organisations manpower requirements.

2.0. Staff appointment

All intended employees will receive an offer of employment in approved standard form and will be required to sign a copy of the offer. This letter will constitute the formal contract of employment and can only be varied in writing thereafter.

3.0. Engagement

All employees will on engagement , complete a form of personal circumstances which includes particulars of sex, marital status and ethnic origin.

4.0. Health & Safety

To maintain safe and healthy working conditions for all employees.

5.0. Pay and Conditions of Employment

To offer pay and other conditions of employment which will attract, motivate and retain sufficient suitable employees.

6.0. Grievance and Disciplinary action

To establish fair and effective procedures for the speedy resolution of grievance and disciplinary matters.

7.0. Equal Opportunity

To set appropriate standards of performance for the organisation to provide training which ensures that these standards are met.
