Tweedale provided full Design Team Professional Services on this 2250m² leisure facility, valued at £2.8 million (net of vat and fees), which is situated adjacent to and linking to Hagley Park High School in Rugeley, Staffordshire.
The scheme comprises a 4 court Badminton Sports Hall, 2no. Squash Courts, a 40 station fitness suite and assessment centre, Creche facility, external artificial Multi-Use Games Area and associated well landscaped car and coach parking.
The project received Stage 2 Approval from the Lottery Board in November 2002 with support in the region of £1.4 million.
The client is Cannock Chase District Council who acted as agents on behalf of Staffordshire County Council, Hagley Park High School, Fair Oak School and an Education Trust Fund which represents the interests of the two schools.
Throughout the design process, Tweedale lead discussions of a Steering group which consisted of the above directly interested parties plus representatives of the Parish Council and Locally elected Councillors.
The adjacent existing swimming pool complex and Hagley Park High School was kept fully operational during the construction process.
