Wolverhampton LTC has a number of tennis courts comprising 8 floodlit artificial grass, 3 natural grass and 1 porous macadam. This new facility was built to extend the original club and provide 3 indoor acrylic tennis courts allowing club members to play all year round in a controlled environment.
The building concept derived from a brief to blend in amongst the local natural landscape and to appear unobtrusive for the adjacent and overlooking residences. As a result the built form takes on an organic free flowing curved roof whilst the walls are clad in Cedar wood. As the cladding paternated over time the building has evolved and taken on the rich silver greys of the surrounding woodland allowing it to nestle in amongst the surroundings.
