TETTENHALL LIBRARY:
Conversion of Tettenhall Library and Council Offices And New build Apartments Regis Road Tettenhall. Work is nearing completion on a prestigious conversion and new build project at the site of the former Council offices and Public Library at Regis Road Tettenhall. The project is being undertaken by Local developers Thamesway Properties Ltd with Main Contractors being A. M. Griffiths of Wolverhampton. In brief the project consists of 10 number dwellings in the form of the conversion of the old two storey Edwardian council office building, Oakland House to create four two bedroom apartments with a further two bedroom apartment in the adjacent single storey Lawson House which was previously Tettenhall Library. There is also a further new build two storey apartment block of Four number two bed apartment along with a new build 3 storey House, in place of the demolished Dower House to complete the development. As the development is adjacent to the local Tettenhall Green conservation area much emphasis was placed on the retention of both Oaklands and Lawson house and the scheme was granted planning permission following extensive detailed discussions with Wolverhampton City Council Planning Department to ensure that both the existing and new build elements would create a harmonious overall design that would enhance the local area. The dwellings have the benefit of NHBC guarantees and are sited within a secure area with many mature trees retained as well additional landscaping and a large secluded lawned amenity area.
