THE TRIANGLE, SCHOOL STREET, WOLVERHAMPTON:

  • Client: Fortmere Properties
  • Firms Responsibilities: Architecture, Town Planning
  • Project Value: £35 million

The Triangle is so named because of the site's geographical shape. Bound on each of it's three sides by roads - Worcester Street, School Street and Pitt Street.

The Triangle is intended to provide a mixed use development that will take on a role in the wider regeneration of the city centre. The scheme will consist of a 4 Star Hotel within a nine storey tower, ninety apartments, a restaurant, bar and shopping outlets.

Key to the proposals is the restoration of the façade to the former Scala Cinema building. Although it closed more than fifty years ago the elaborate wall of the picturehouse will be brought back to its former glory in a bid to retain some of the local and architectural history of the city.
